Moss Lane Farm is a community-run farm where people, nature and ideas grow togethe Raising our four children here has deepened our belief that every generation should have the chance to know where food comes from, feel connected to nature and understand how to care for the land. Through community-supported agriculture, food growing and hands-on learning, we bring people closer to the land and to one another. We nurture biodiversity and create opportunities for people to learn, connect and thrive. We see ourselves as stewards of this land, caring for it so future generations can enjoy and learn from it too. We invite our community to join us in putting down roots for a healthier future for people and planet.
How it started
Our story We bought Moss Lane Farm in 2010, as we began thinking about the kind of life we wanted to create for our family once we had children. We wanted a closer connection to the land, to food and to a way of living shaped by care for the natural world. Over time, the farm grew into something bigger. We became the first farm on Chat Moss to open its gates to the wider community, building a bridge between local people and the land around them. We began as a non-profit organisation, with a mission to bring food growing back to Chat Moss and help people reconnect with its farming heritage. We wanted to share the knowledge, stories and skills that have shaped this landscape, and to create new opportunities for people to learn and grow here. Today, Moss Lane Farm brings people together through food, nature and learning. We’re working towards a community-owned future where people and nature can thrive together. Green Teach Community Farm Based at Moss Lane Farm, Green Teach offers welcoming, hands-on learning for children and young people. Through time outdoors and practical activities, they can build confidence, develop skills and connect with nature.
